Men Eating Dinner
as part of the Scene & Heard Festival of New Work
Dublin 2024
Thirteen men at a dinner party - among them shared wine, bread, homoerotic tensions and a traitor. This 20 minute piece, an adaptation of Leonardo DaVinci's Last Supper, questions what it means to be a man.
To prove their loyalty and legitimacy, the disciples start a competition to find out what determines masculinity: Is it he who is the most violent? Or has the most money? Is it he who believes in God, he who loves or he who has a male body? When the apostles find out that among them is not only a traitor and a denier, but also a woman, all hell breaks loose.
